3 days in Paris visit : Day 2
On the second day of our 3 day visit to paris we are going to focus more on the latin quarter of Paris and the other famous museums Paris has to offer. When you have limited time you have to make choices in what to visit and how much time you want to spend on each attractions.

When visiting Paris for a short time, there is no time to waist with sleeping in. Also some monuments should be visited either early or late to avoid the crowd. We start the day with a visit to the Notre Dames. The most know Cathedral in the world. This is a monument you cannot miss with it’s gothic architecture and stained glasses. You also get a great view of the city from the tower where you get a closer look at the cathedrals bells and the decorative gargoyles.
On the same island as the Notre Dames, Île de la Cité which is located in the midle of the Seine, you will find the Palais de Justice. This Palace used to be the location of the Paris parlement. It also hold the Conciergerie which is a former prison turned into a museum. Marie Antoinette was held here before executed on the guillotine.
After visiting Île de la Cité we will visit the latin quarter of Paris. The latin quarter is a popular place for students and budget travelers. Filled with small restaurants, bars, shops and markets. In the latin quarter we will find the Pantheon. Original the Pantheon isn’t build as a church but more used as burial place. It is build after the Pantheon in Rome, perhaps that is why it looks familiar.
After a visit to the Pantheon it might be time for a snack in the latin quarter or a picknick in the Jardin du Luxembourg this garden holds also the palace of luxembourg which houses the french senate. Besides many statues and refreshing waters the garden also presents the original model of the Statue of Liberty.


The next stop depends on the interests in art. Rodin Museum a smaller museum dedicated too Auguste Rodin a French sculptor who created the thinker. Close to the Rodin Museum you will find Hôtels Des Invalides, a complex of buildings containing museums and monuments relating to the military history of France. As original purpose the museum was a home and hospital for the old and woonded soldiers of Louis XIV. If you still hadn’t had enough of visiting museums, the d’Orsay cannot be missed on your list of visits. D’Orsay is located at the left bank of the Seine in a former railway station. It shows an interesting collection of mid 19 and early 20th centurary French art. On Wednesdays the d’Orsay stays open till 21.45 (9.45 p.m.).
After dinner in the fine restaurants paris have to offer it is time for a nice stroll nearby the Seine. When you get to the Eiffel Tower you will set lit which gives you an alternate view of the monument. A bit further in the same direction you will find the second copy of the statue of liberty on the Seine itself nearby the Pont de Grenelle.
After a captivating day and a romantic night it is time to head back to the hotel for tomorrow brings another interesting day.
